JENNIFER LAWRENCE AGREES THAT PARIS FASHION WEEK IS THE 'MOST INTIMIDATING TIME TO BE ALIVE'

Jennifer Lawrence on "Vanity Fair," Holiday 2016.

If you've never been to Paris Fashion Week, it's difficult to describe the waves of sartorial anxiety that can wash over you at any moment. For nine days, you're basically corralled from one cramped show venue to another, rubbing elbows with the industry elite — most of whom are decked out in the most expensive (and exclusive) designer pieces on the market. I'll admit, sitting among the editors, buyers, stylists and influencers wearing head-to-toe Chanel, Gucci, Prada and the like — as well as being five foot three and disappearing into a crowd of impossibly tall models — can be alienating. But such is life, and despite the occasional self-esteem spiral, attending PFW is pretty damn rewarding.

This aforementioned fashion week stress is certainly not unique, but the latest woman to open up about her experiences at the fanciest of all industry events is none other than America's BFF, the super-relatable Jennifer Lawrence. The 26-year-old actress, who is currently promoting her upcoming thriller "Passengers," stars on the Holiday 2016 issue of Vanity Fair, with an accompanying editorial shot by Peter Lindbergh. Dressed in Dior (thanks to the contract she's held with them since 2012), Valentino Couture, Armani Privé and more, she looks every bit the high-glam natural.
However, despite her access to luxury gowns and a dedicated beauty team, she can't help but feel insecure during Paris Fashion Week. Lawrence calls the event "the most intimidating time to be alive," proving yet again that she's just like us. "You get ready in your hotel and you're like, 'I look awesome.' Then you walk outside, see the outfits and people who are like seven feet tall, and are like, I am a piece of garbage. I'm not going out anymore.'" Too real, J. Law. Too real. Lawrence also has a history of slightly awkward (yet endearing) wardrobe malfunctions, like when she fell at the 2013 Oscars in Dior — andagain at the same event in 2014 — so we're thinking this might play a role in her fashion-related psych-outs.

Cara Delevingne is stripping down for another good cause. September marks Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month in the UK, and the model-actress is appearing in the Lady Garden campaign. British women, including Cara’s Sister Chloe, are behind the project which aims to bring discussion to the “silent killer” of cancers due to its lack of symptoms. In the campaign, Cara wears the Lady Garden hoodie in black and grey. The hoodies as well as joggers will be available at Topshop starting on September 8th.

In a behind the scenes video, Cara talks about the importance behind this campaign. “I first became involved when my sister, Chloe, had a bit of a scare with a pre-cancerous cell,” the model reveals. “She was very brave and spoke about it. It takes a lot of courage to talk about things like this. I think women need to be braver about it because otherwise people can be affected.”
